Frequently Asked Questions

Are these words commonly used by native speakers?

Absolutely! I specifically only included the most common words that students of English should know. You will not be wasting time learning words that you don’t need.

Why did you choose these specific words to teach?

I’ve been teaching advanced communication skills to English learners for over 20 years, and these words kept coming up over and over again. My advanced students did not know their meaning. Out of thousands of words that I’ve kept in my notes, I think these words are the most useful.

Will learning these words help me for my TOEFL, TOEIC or other English tests?

Yes, Many of these words are regularly found in English tests. However, we intentionally excluded some rare words that are on tests but not used often in everyday speech because they are technical or scientific.

How long is the course?

More than 7 hours of video content divided into shorter lessons.

Can I watch the videos on my mobile phone?

Yes. You can watch them on any device – smart phone, tablet or computer.

What level of English do I need to have?

Most of our students are advanced learners of English, but the English spoken in the videos is simple enough so that if you are intermediate or a high beginner, you will definitely understand the explanations.
