Lisa Mojsin is the author of the book,
"Mastering the American Accent," and the creator of "The American Accent
Course" DVDs.
Ms. Mojsin has many years of experience teaching accent
reduction and communication skills to professionals from a variety of
cultural backgrounds both in the US and overseas. She speaks five languages
and holds a Master Degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other
Languages, a post-baccalaureate in education and a Bachelor's Degree in
French with a minor in German from UCLA. She has also studied in France and
Germany. She has taught at UCLA-Extension, Santa Monica College, Loyola
Marymount University, West Los Angeles College, and Otis College of Art and
Design.
She specializes in working with clients in the entertainment
industry such as actors, newscasters and announcers, where accurate
pronunciation of English is a must. Her typical non-entertainment industry clients
in the LA area are foreign born physicians, lawyers, software engineers and
corporate professionals.
She is the
founder of Accurate English and she personally
trains the Accurate English instructors in the methods that she as
developed.
In addition to accent reduction teaching, Ms. Mojsin has
extensive experience teaching college courses such as:
English Writing and Grammar, Intercultural Communication, Business English, Academic
Writing, TOEFL Preparation and Oral Communication. She believes that accent
reduction and correct usage of the English language go hand in hand. Ms.
Mojsin custom designs lessons to correct both the language skills such as
grammar/sentence structure and the sound of her clients' speech.
She has also taught French.
She has worked in Germany,
China, New Zealand and France. Accurate communication has been the
overriding goal of her professional career.
